Ludwig van BeethovenBuried: June 22 1888 - Wiener Zentralfriedhof, Wien, Österreich
Ludwig van Beethoven was a German composer and pianist, one of the most revered figures in the history of Western music. His works rank among the most performed of the classical music repertoire and span the transition from the Classical period to the Romantic era in classical music. In his late period, from 1812 to 1827, he extended his innovations in musical form and expression. Beethoven was initially laid to rest in the Währing cemetery. His remains were later exhumed for examination in 1863 and subsequently relocated in 1888 to Vienna's Zentralfriedhof, where he was reburied in a grave next to Schubert.
